I met my 3 English boys during my master studies in Amsterdam. Having absolutely no network in the city, we started playing in Open Mic nights in several pubs, where people approached us, offering us more gigs. Within a few months we managed to play live twice in Amsterdam FM, and once in a TV show called So Dam Local where we gave an interview and played an acoustic version of my favourite 44verses song, Hostel. We released a few songs on Soundcloud, 2 of them recorded at Zolder Studio Noord, and it was the first time that I was in a band with more indie sound. For me 44verses was a newfound pleasure of upheaval and its catalytic effect on externalised artistry. This project, despite of its known-from-the start ephemerality – and probably because of it – changed my life as a singer/songwriter in the most profound way.
