Never Giving Up On You is a song I wrote about my friends. I am lucky to have people around me that I care a lot about and they care about me too, so much that I call them my chosen family. Although I’m settled in Scotland, I grew up in Greece and studied in Amsterdam so naturally I’ve made some really strong friendships with people that are far away from me; equality, I’ve become very close with people that I’ve met more recently in my life, when I thought I was pretty much done making friends. So this song is for all the beautiful humans I’m lucky enough to have in my life and it’s like a thank you to all of them for being there for me and for inspiring me and helping me follow my dreams. Throughout the years and especially during the pandemic I fell out with friends that I considered very close to me and it felt more heartbreaking than a breakup. So Never Giving Up On You is also a promise that I’ll always be there for those who valued our friendship and stuck around through better and worse and that I’ll always be there for them like they’ve been there for me.
